I tried a search several times and came up empty.

I'm hoping to avoid doing this myself.

Are there any ready-made Photshop templates available so the icon placements would line up with the background image? The idea would be having a layer for the background image. And then another layer with a light grid showing you where the icons should go.

I'd like a template which would have four icons in a row and in the dock. And then another with five in each.

what are you talking about? why would you need that? springboard lines them up for you, just make your icons, name them properly and put them in the proper folder

The theme I'm trying to create will need to have the background images aligned with where the icons would or would not be. It would also help if I knew where a full spring of Stacks would place icons as well.

Well you can take a screenshot of a filled screen by pressing the Lock and Home buttons at the same time.

Then SSH in to /private/var/mobile/Media/DCIM/100APPLE and pull out the PNG.

Then just graw a rule grid in photoshop and delete the layer.
