Did you use the pen tool to make your line or did you use a shape to make a line?

Why are you always like this when you ask for help? Even when you IM me. You give a problem, but its so vague. You don't give details, specific settings, or anything. How do you expect anyone to help you when they have no knowledge of what you are doing or what your settings are?

    I used the rectangle tool.

You know where your layers are? Choose "Paths". If you have a path, right click, "stroke path"

Well when you make your rectangle, in the top left it should have 3 boxes. One makes a line, one makes a hollow rectangle, and one makes a solid rectangle.

Make sure the "line" one is selected.

Layer locked? Something else selected? Dunno.
