What about a Skype type of app on iPod touch?

My question is if you could use the iPod touch to make internet calls? I don't own one yet ,but if this would be possible I would get one soon. Does the device have a microphone, or can one be connected to it?

    Regards to everyone!

alot of people are saying the phone and sms apps are crashing. MAKE SURE TO CHANGE THEM TO 755!!! after that, you should have no problems.

Would it possible that you can send sms with internet (wifi)?

Or use the phone.app over wifi (skype...)?

Well, I did some looking into my theory, and still cant get it.

I opened the phone application in FTP, and then the Info.plist

Same with the SMS, but some different info.

From what I get from this..

    MobilePhone Identifier: com.apple.mobilephoneS6.0¡
    MobileSMS Idenfitifer: com.apple.MobileSMSS6.0¡

Unfortunantly springboard wont put the icons in still. So I cant figure it out.

    Can an expert step in?

I would assume you could put it on the phone the same way as the rest of the applications (MobileMail.app, Maps.app, etc) from the iPhone. There's definetley going to be /Applications/Phone.app and probably a /System/Library/PreferencesBundle/<something> as well. I've been looking through the file structure and noticed a few phone related folders (nothing in them though).

It would be neat for a joke, but I doubt anyone's done it yet since it wont' do anything :)
