So apple lovers. Apparently it's normal for your shiny new toys to get scratched even though you don't want it to.

With that said, I'm buying the silver iPod. It's been decided, no colors, they'll most likely scratch out XD

Anything scratches and scuffs. Plastic, metal, glass, etc. So it's not just Apple products. If you treat an SIII badly it'll scuff and scratch too. The plastic will actually scuff worse than any metal will since it's soft (if that's what you're getting at XD).

Nope. Just saying that to apple, It's normal for our phones to be scratched and they don't seem to care.

From what I've seen with my friends iPhone 5, they scratch fairly easily. Boo

Less than a week after the iPhone 5 launch it gets scratches.
I thought Apple was known for their build quality, could have fooled me.

It's funny that all the colors have the same scratch resistance but just because it APPEARS more scratch resistant people are choosing white.

So it seems now that the iPod touch doesn't have an easily scratch able back anymore, the iPhone picks up the slack? That's disappointing, and scratches kind of go against a devices durability. Once you get those scratches, who knows, maybe it would open the door to rust etc since it would appear they scratchable layer protects the metal to some degree. I'm definitely not happy about this as I'm sure anyone who has one is.

Tell Samsung, Nokia (Nokia uses the same methods to color some of its phones actually), HTC, etc to replace your phone because it's scratched. See what they say... They don't care either. Reason being, it's natural, it happens with use. If you care that much, they'll tell you to use a case.
