It should have been $399 and they should of stopped making the iPad 2. Now I feel ripped off after just getting a touch for $299 and it's only $30 more.

Considering how well the device appears to be made I won't have any problem paying for a copy of it for my wife. Judging from my experience with our iPhones and my iPad3 I consider the premium price worth it. I didn't used to think that but after using these devices trouble-free for a couple of years I'm not bothered by the price.

I'm not quite there when it comes to the PC's (Macs) yet, but I'm slowly warming up to the brand. They haven't let me down so far. It's worth it to me to pay more for something if I can rely on it. In the long run it actually winds up being cheaper that way because you don't want to replace it as often. That's true of just about anything you buy (within reason of course).

I think it's a fair price but could of been a bit lower.

It's not too expensive. Besides, the superior build quality of Apple's products, for me, is worth the extra money over, say the Nexus 7 in this case.

There is no "Apple Tax". It's called "What the market will bear". Apple prices them where they think people will be willing to pay. They're obviously right, because people gladly pay for them. If they were "overpriced" then they wouldn't sell as many and they would lower the price to stimulate sales.

Most folks around here seem to have gone to a Government school and never learned about the law of "supply and demand".

I just wish it had retina display, even if that made it a little thicker, and also A6X chip, kind of like a mini iPad 4th gen...though I guess it'll be good for students to get their textbooks on
