Anybody got this working on a 2g with 2.2?

I cant get perl or python sockets working.

An example of what I mean:

I am trying to install webmin (I know, most of the stuff wont apply, but its just for fun) and it says Perl isnt properly installed, even though I did a native install using http://www.wickedpsyched.com/perl the perl at that link... Apparantly its made for iphone, which should be ipod compatible?

Perl works, but forget sockets, same with python.

Obviously, no one replied, because nobody knows.

So wait, just because in a couple of days nobody has replied means that not a single person here knows? I think its more likely that either people who know havent seen this, or havent logged into the site recently to check, or, are just ignoring this. Either way, if my bumping this thread bothers you, feel free to move along and take your sarcasm with you Captiain Obvious. I didnt realize aspiring to break new ground in the iPhone/iPod Touch was such a crime.

I'm not saying that at all, and sorry if I cam across like that. All I am saying is this section is thriving and every post if people know the answer gets answered in a day.

I have used sockets in Python on the iPhone and I can say it worked for me.

I think that was back on 2.0, on a 3G iPhone.

I wasn't doing anything spectacular, just sending some data across my network.

Did it work out of the box or did you have to install any special packages, aside from Python?

The biggest difference I see here is that I am using an iPod touch, versus your iPhone, but from what ive been told, they are very similar anyways..
