can anyone tell me what adapter i would need in order to hook up my PC headset to my touch?

PC headset has 2 stereo male endings... one for music, and the other for microphone...1/8"... buying iphone earbuds work but they're pricey and i have a very rugged PC headset already so.... what kind of adapter would i need to combine those two jacks into 1 that i'd plug into my touch?

i want to essentially use this headset to make skype calls so microphone is necessary.

I don't think there is an adapter for that. You would need something to keep the stereo for music and to convert the mic into mono and combine them, like the Apple headphones with mic, with 3 white rings

Ok I have not seen that type of adapter but...
I have seen one that deoes the opposite (one plug into two seperate)
however if you can't find the one you need (check radioshack) you can use some trickery to get it maybe
    just an example :
I wanted to use a 3.5 in computer speaker set on my tv
so I had an adapter that does a male 3.5 in to female 3.5 in
then I had an adapter that was 3.5 inch to a left and right RCA cable
then I had to use a male to male RCA cable to plug into my tv
so took 3 cables/adapters to use my speakers on my tv
so, if you don't mind walking around with a couplea dapters and cables in your pocket and spendig maybe 20/25 bucks on it, I'm sure it could be done

ahh... i've been looking for a solution to this for a while and it's frustrating me... the earbud style headphones last no more than a month for me... i want something with a rugged thick cable... like my PC headset.

I know someone out there knows how i just have to keep searching haha.
