    Hi,

I just got a new gen 2 Ipod touch for my Daughter and went to apple store and downloaded some apps and it asked for my id and password. It worked fine and now I can go and download apps without putting in my password. I don't like that because anyone using it can download things that I don't want on it or be charged for. My question is how can I make it so you must put in password?

    Thank You for your help.

    Tom

You may want to consider turning on the Parental COntrols and disable installing apps.

After i respring or reboot, it askes me for my password again. So just restart your daughter's iPod and it should ask for it again. Or do what jpga said and disable App Store through the Parental Controls in the settings.

    From MY experiences.
The password resets after about 15 minutes or so.
You might want to have that confirmed by an expert *cough*jpga*cough*

That is how it works for me anyways.

I did try disable installing apps and it still was able to download apps The only thing I lost was the ability to get on Safari, because ther was no icon for it. When i get home I will try rebooting to see if that works.

I tried both ways and I went to download apps it never asked for password and started to download them.

I did leave it turned off for a while and it did not ask for a password.

    Thank You

just an FYI- "App Store" isn't short for Apple Store.

on your pc in itunes you can try signing out... then sign in and it should have a checkbox like "save password for purchases" and uncheck it. if that doesnt work (worst case scenario) you can

    1. sync ipod to make sure all apps on the ipod are on your pc
    2. do that^^ (sign out uncheck sign in)
    3. restore it
then when you try to buy an app it should ask for your pass and u can make sure it doesnt remmeber it.

EDIT: make sure you try the first method though, restoring is a pain.

EDIT again: on the first method, try syncing the ipod after you uncheck the box and sign out see if its still unchecked then sign in and sync again

    sorry if im confuzing
