How would you rate the palm pixi plus? I want to try a web OS device and for $80 new and unlocked I'm willing to try it if it's good enough. It doesn't have to be up to par with my iPhone but I have been craving a QWERTY keyboard recently.

Have you considered the Veer? It has the same screen and such of the Pixi, but a slider design, more power, webOS 2.2 (or whatever is the latest...) And you can find it online for like $90 on Amazon. Heck, it has a 5MP camera and flash player! Yes, it needs an adapter for headphones, but it's included. I am recieving one in a few days, (I have a Pre Plus and love it, don't like the outdated firmware and globby plastic design... The Veer has a gorilla glass screen, and soft-touch plastics.) It's a pretty darn goo phone for the size, and much better than the Pixi. (Unless you don't care for not having some of the newer apps and webOS...) The Pixi Plus has wifi and isn't really a bad phone... You can find it for like $40 on amazon. It has the best rated webOS keyboard to date... And you can get different colored battery covers too. Also you can get it in AT&T or Verizon.

But, the Veer is locked to AT&T. :-/ Sorry if the big paragraph above was pointless information.

Well, I have AT&T so the pixi would be $82 from Amazon, I didn't really look into the Veer because I was under the impression that the screen was so small but it just came to me that the screen is probably the same size as the pixi. I'll look into it... it's only 0.03 inches smaller than the pixi. Thanks :)

Edit: I can't find a veer for $90 with no contract on amazon =/

Edit 2: Found it for $87 :D I'll definitely be looking into this and purchasing one of the two next week.

Had a palm pixi plus on Verizon. Hated it, phone was very slow and would lock up if I had more than a few cards running.

Probably why the Veer, with an almost identical screen size and twice the power, with the latest webOS, and a 5MP camera instead of 2MP, a gorilla glass (instead of plastic) screen, and a better speaker, is probably a better choice considering they are the same price on Amazon. Read any review about it, aside from the size and the headphone port, people generally say it's a full blown smartphone but tiny, (the T-Mobile G2 or whatever used the same processor, for comparison to power... And this phone isn't running Android...) It's fast, efficient, and even has flash player.

Mine will arrive from Amazon in a few days... I am a bit excited. I have a Pre+, but it's a bit slow and I hate how it can't get webOS 2.0+... Easily at least... I want to get the $50 "unlimited" GoPhone plan on it, but I don't know if I need to pay more money for data, even though the plan includes it, because I have a smartphone... AT&T's website is not very clear about it... Oh well... Load it with phnx, (a great and now free twitter client,) and I'm happy, as that's all I use my iPod for. Also, the keyboard is 500x better than the one on my Pre+... It's much clickier. It's a few mm smaller but the clickiness instead of jelliness helps accuracy a lot.

Well, I slept on it and I'm not sure if I want to wait to get the touchpad or get the veer to hold me over.

Don't get the pixi. Get the Veer. The build quality of the Veer is vastly superior to that of the Pixi. Hell, the Veer has a better build quality than my Pre 2. I'm thinking of picking one up when they drop in price a bit more. The keyboard is fantastic for such a small size.

Yeah, I am debating getting the veer for $90 on amazon to satisfy my WebOS cravings until I get my touchpad which could be Christmas for all we know. Does anyone know of a WebOS dreamboard theme?

I had it for like two years and didn't like it very much. It is kinda hard to use and it's pretty buggy.

Yeah... The dummy model (Veer 4G) that has been horribly abused at the bestbuy nearest me still seems better than my mother's Pixi+... Well, the Pixi+'s screen is plastic, and the sides and back are a sort of TPU material, the soft-plastic material used in a lot of iPod cases... (Like my Pixelskin HD.)

And, the Pre 2 still used 60% of the Pre and Pre+'s housing... So that makes sense.
