Can someone possibly explain why pages take longer to load up on my new 4th G Itouch 32 Gig compared to my old itouch 2nd Gen 8 gig both running on OS4.

Also the old unit will download a photo of 725K but the new one will just whirr away with a blank screen and I have to give up. Have I got a faulty unit or are they all like this? Thoughta appreciated. To give a general example the old will load a page in a few seconds; the new will half load with the status bar lit half blue, will pause for about 10-20 secs and then load up.

    I'm very disappointed tbh

    What's Pages? The iPad app?

I'm sorry, you've lost me?? General loading up of webpages on Safari is what I am referring to.

I think it's the retina. The itouch4g has to download the file 4 times bigger to compensate for clear objects

Have you tested the speed with both ipods side by side on the same connection? It seems illogical that the 4g, with double the ram and the a4 processor would be slower

I believe it might be the retina display
But, it is highly possible that you could have a defective model

Honestly I think yours might be defective because my new one is rocking compared to my old 2G. If you are noticing a consistent slowdown then I think it's your pod. Sorry to hear about it tho...

Well it seems to have sorted itself out to an extent but photos particularly larger file sizes take a long time to download. What was that point about the retina and 4 x larger filesize? Might explain something so can anyone expand?
