out of the box, pretty much means, un-touched firmware, for example i went to 1.1.1 then to 1.1.3 to get 1.1.3. As out the box is, you have the REAL 1.1.3 on your ipot, then the program JBs it straight. im not sure if you can class pwnage as otb, because your putting a new firmware on...

I think the point is that it can JB any iPod straight OTB. And unlock any iPhone etc..

not so sure about that. I could have asked the same question just regardin the old JB (or Ziphone etc.)

    1. Shop
    2. Open box
    3. Pwn

    vs.

    1. Shop
    2. open box
    3. connect to itunes
    4. do it`s stuff
    5. Pwn

You can't do the first option. When you first get your iPod it'll say connect to iTunes, so unless you get a tool like iBrickr, i'm not sure you can do it, and i'm still not sure that iBrickr even works OTB. Also pwnage might not work with the OTB restore mode, it might be slightly different. I don't know if its been tried. Best bet is going thru iTunes first.
