    Device:
    iPhone 6 Plus
    iPhone 3G S 32GB on PAYG
    Period of 18 months

    Device: £538.30
    18 months of £10 top up: £180
6 months of Data (12 months free): £60
    Total Minutes: 450
    Total Texts: 450

    Total Price: £778.30

    iPhone 3G S 32GB on Contract (£34.26 tariff)
    Period of 18 months

    Device: £274.23
    18 months of contract: £616.68
    18 months of data: Free
    Total Minutes: 10,800
    Total Texts: 9000

    Total Price: £890.91

Contract is more expensive but is WORTH it. You get x24 more minutes on contract for £100 more.

Note: "Our" refers to Alex Dixon and Ryan Chung. Although Ryan was in the shower when I was typing this.

I don't believe that the x24 figure is correct... it seems FAR too large... if anyone wants to check this, please feel free to. Although if it's correct, then go for contract definitely.

    iPhone 3G S 32GB with "Simplicity" Tariff
    18 month period (no contract)

    Device: £538.30
    18 months of contract: £352.44
18 months of data: Included as a bolt on on the £19.58 package
    Total Minutes: 10,800
    Total Texts: 21,600

    Total Price: £890.74

It appears that if you buy the iPhone separately (expensive at first, yes) you can get a cheaper deal than the contract one with MORE texts. You'll also get the unlimited web browsing as a bolt-on, for 20p less than the contract.

    Also:
So after 12 months, you get a third more minutes and texts, which means you'll get 6 months of 798 minutes and 1596 texts. (which isn't mentioned above)

Overall then, for 20p less than a contract, you get lots more minutes and texts, and free data. Bargain. Thank me later.

i think you have got the number of calls and texts for the pay as you go wrong, if you look on the website it says if you will be on the favorite place tariff to begin with, and with that you get 500 minutes if you top up by £10 so if you pay £180 as you said above you would get 9000 minutes, don't know about texts though
    ------------------double post merged------------------
also i think with pay and go its a bit more complicated cause the price of every call depending on who you call and when changes so you could get more minutes for £10
