Try -x and -v flags. If you can't get it to work, the root device error means it doesn't support a part of your hardware (most likely the harddrive).
Try it on another computer and if it works, install it to a portable harddrive and boot it off that.

You want to inject the newest NForceATA by MeDevil into the .iso and reburn it (should be instructions in the folder you downloaded) get it from insanleymac drivers section. -- Actually I think Kalyway 10.5.5 has the new one included, not sure if its AMD though .. Also, give insanelymac a search to see if anyone else has ur mobo up and running -- then try dfe's boot-132 with Voodoo kernel (does it support AMD yet??) or another AMD kernel.

Edit, there seems to be sucess with Zephyroth 10.5.2 ...
    Edit 2:
1.Download Zephyroth from you know where.
2.Wait for the installation to boot.
    3.Select these settings:
    9.2.0 TOH Kernel
    nForce 2/3/4/5 Chipset drivers
    Azalia audio
nVidia 10.5.2 kexts and however much memory your gpu has...MB nVInject 0.2.0 for the Graphics driver.
    forcedeth LAN driver

3.Do not leave the installation unattended, keep moving the mouse around.
    4.Cross your fingers.
5.Buy a copy of Leopard, and use dfe's boot-132 with the kernel and the kexts you selected. Be happy.
