This is a discussion thread for the "OS X 10.8.1 to be Seeded to Developers in the Coming Days" story posted on the front page.
Likely. Nothing is confirmed yet, as it hasn't been released yet. But almost assuredly that issue will be fixed, or at least improved upon.
I thought it was basically confirmed that there was no actual battery drain and any shortening of battery life was temporary and caused by the reindexing OSX must do upon updating. My battery life actually seems better on 10.8 than it did on Lion, but this is after like two weeks.
That's quite interesting and expected considering the barren amount of new features introduced with Mountain Lion. Maybe we're too used to having gigantic updates that make us smile larger than the Cheshire Cat. Regardless, Mountain Lion is disappointing, I want to see something amazing like the old Apple days. Don't tell me that it won't happen because there's no Steve Jobs; what Steve Jobs did was largely quality control as apparently, people would put anything out for the love of money and unfortunately, the detriment of their company.
out of the box I upgraded to 10.8, and read up on all the battery drain issues and then all of a sudden my mbp 2012 edition just starts boiling up, haha needless to say i downgraded immediately. Do you think I should wait for 10.8.1 or stay on lion?
If your model is one of the ones affected, then stay on Lion until 10.8.1. However, Mountain Lion is a pretty big improvement for most models.
