Well we all know that iPhone OS 4 now includes the famous multitasking. But, The apps don't run in the background. They are just in the little multitask dock that is like the same as launching the app from the homescreen. So im wondering if it the apps that have to be built for the firmware 4.0 to be able to fully run in the background like the stock applications. Just a thought. Cuz it seems weird.

Yes, they will be able to run in the background, as long as they have been updated to be able to run in the background. Right now, 4.0 hasn't been released publicly, so developers have no point in updating their apps to allow it right now.

Ahh ok just making sure cuz its really annoying to go back and wait for the app to load.
    Thanks for the reply.

Last I checked, the app will be paused (not official), hopefully not though. Don't want our radio apps (SHOUTCast, Pandora, Slacker, etc.) to stop playing our music

I think it just depends on the app. In the keynote, they showed the Pandora Radio app continue playing music in the background, but they also showed Tap Tap Revenge 3 paused in the background.

It just keeps the whole app running as if it were in the foreground.
