This really does work. When you delete a file, you never actually 'delete' it, but the hardware considers that space overwritable, but how can it be so possible to still view deleted mails that easily and fast?

The OS probably didn't delete the cache of the email.

    Someone at Giz said this:

    Perhaps that might fix it.

My ipod touch 2g has suddenly developed a problem of not being able to delete individual emails as you read them. I usually use this feature as I read emails and then immediately delete them as they're read and I don't want to save them. Now when I press the delete button nothing happens. I have to do go to edit and do a mass/multiple delete and even that doesn't always work the first time.

Any suggestions on how or if I can get this feature back?

isnt that because spotlight searches the server records for email rather then the ones downloaded on the phone, the ones you "delete" on the phone are not actually deleted from the server so it will still show up.
