Original firmware 2.2.1

    Ok i keep downloading the firmware but its .zip and when i press shift it doesn't show on the screen as a iswp or what ever. Please help.

    If you are on Mac then download it with Firefox, not Safari.

    Change format

    Change the filename from .zip to .ipsw and then in iTunes press shift + restore

    Anymore help needed, just ask.

    Right click on it and depending if your on XP or Vista click on Extract... Or Extract Wizard, or something simular.

    DON'T DO THIS! You'll need a tool such as WinZip which will let you extract the files using the program.

    I changed the extension format, and this worked just fine for me....

    It depends.

    Some people compress the file in a .zip, others rename the file to .zip so you could do the manual jailbreak (pre redsn0w 0.3.)

    I have the same problem as crazyguy27 except i did unzip it and it still won't recongize it. what do i do?
