Well I had a rather interesting idea, did a couple of searches... nothing came up so thought id share it.....

Theres many apps both jailbreak and appstore alike that give your ipod or iphone ability to control your Mac or PC system. But What about the other way around.

For Instance I have a sound system in my room. that uses a headphone jack to conect speakers to. But My desk is on other side of room. so say i have my ipod connected to sound system playing my music, and im at my desk on my mac. i feel the need to change track or playlist or even play an ipod game etc yet i dont wanna move away from my mac (assume here that it not a laptop/portable) how cool would it be to control my ipod/iphone using my mac/pc.

not sure if this would be possible. any ideas/thoughts?

This would be handy and I'm not sure why it hasn't been done yet.

If you could view and control your iPod from your PC/MAC Then you could record video of your Ipod in action sort of how steve does it in his keynotes or play games on your ipod while viewing it on your computer instead of looking down at your iPod.

How about VNC from iPod to Ipod? That would be cool pointless but cool.

There are plenty of open source VNC servers and clients out there alot of them are cross platform too.

This would be great! To bad have have no idea how to do this stuff.

It wouldn't work because you can't run Applications in the background. And I'm not sure whether the iPod has the power to do that?

It would be cool if someone could do this. id try but i suck so and have virtually no free time. and from what i read of the iphoneVNCserver its not exactly what i was talking about but its still cool. tho i doubt a MochaVNC/Jaadu Style App for mac/pc that can control and veiw ipod/iphone would be workable... certainly not from apple id guess.

Veency works awesome, just like an ipod on your desktop. I use this at work now cause my stereo is on the otherside of my office so now i can listen to music off my ipod and not have to move from my computer to change it.
