Opera will soon be unveiling a new Opera Mini for the iPhone. It can make browsing up to 6x faster, and can reduce data costs (even though its unlimited) by 90% with compression technology.

Sounds great, but it almost certainly won't get accepted by Apple. Also, I don't think that Opera would put it on Cydia, but you never know...

Aren't there other browsers on the appstore right now? but, i agree it will get rejected, just like several other great apps that apple sees as competition. (LALA app would've been sweet - look it up). I think i'll stick with safari either way because it works pretty good.

I doubt it will get accepted, but oh well, at least I still have Safari.

There are other browsers, but they aren't as globally popular as opera mini...

I believe Apple has bought Lala, so maybe they're planning to do something with it?

The other browsers aren't full browsers as such. They're just WebViews, which use the same engine as Safari.

I've been waiting for this day. I love opera on my desktop and on my mobile phone. I hole that they put it out but if Im not mistaken apple has already rejected this in the past. I hope they go to cydia and I think that their open platform attitude will come through and they'll go to cydia. If you customize the browser to it's full potential it will save you so much time just surfing the web. Also on m netbook I use a verizon midi Internet card and the opera browser has a optimized browsing capabilities while using a slow Internet connection. All and all this will save you minutes if not hours a week.
