Recent tests show that Opera is the fastest browser of Safari or FireFox3. I can't wait till results come out against WebKit or Google Chrome.

What do you think? Should you at least TRY Opera now?

If I can find more recent results, I will most definitely try.

    Notice they're all betas?

According to your presumable assumption, betas should be slower, right? So Opera 9.5 BETA will understandably be slower than Opera 9.5, so the results are practically correct.

EDIT (not today, this is an old feed):

Opera.com today officially announced the release of Opera 9.5.

It is claimed to be 50% faster than the previous versions. Other new features include Opera Link, which syncs your Opera settings, notes, and bookmarks everywhere you go, Quick Find, which lets you quickly search for websites not only by their address but also by their content, and a sleek new default skin (Just like Firefox 3 which is still in Beta). Opera has also claimed that the latest version starts up much faster, and handles third party plug-ins faster, too. Support for web standards is also improved.
