Before you read on, I did everything on a Ipod Touch 2g with firmware 2.2.1

Alright guys, I just managed to successfully do the winscp config.

A few things to take note
    1) Make sure the password is typed correctly. It's alpine.
    2) You don't need to have BSD subsystems.
    3) I installed OpenSSH. And also this app called Bossprefs (thou I am not sure if the latter one helped)
    4) Be sure to restart your Ipod touch/Iphone (by holding down the power button and sliding to off it) before attempting to use WinSCP

If you have any queries, please post them here!

On the other hand, anyone who has useful links or advices can help out too!

    Thanks

I used Filezilla to SFTP to my iPod, it worked great. Is it just me or does SSH performance suck? (As in SSH'ing to a iPod)

In general there are many guides on winscp. On your ipod or iphone you need to have openssh installed. You can download that off cydia.
On your pc you need to have iTunes installed and probably the latest version of .net.
To set up a wifi connection you need to startup winscp on your pc and make a connection to your ipod using the ip address of your ipod. You can check that address with SB Settings or otherwise with Settings, Wi-Fi, on your ipod that is.

People here also talk about the ip address 127.0.0.1
That's the ip address you use when you want to set up a cable connection between your ipod and pc, you can do this by downloading and installing the iPhone tunnel suite. Google it.

    My settings, that work are:

Host name:*Insert Ipod IP Address Here*

    Port Number: 22

    User name: root

    password: alpine

    private key file: *Blank*

File Protocol: SFTP with Allow SCP fallback checked

I'm on a Ipod touch 2g with 2.2.1 firmware, hope this helps.
