well if itunes recognizes ur ipod as in Recovery mode, then ur good to restore. don't need DFU. if u get error, DFU mode by holding

Home+power for 10 seconds, then release power but continue to hold home for about 20 more seconds. ur computer should recognize it and ur itunes will say its in recovery. just restore and ur good. then rejailbreak and don't put it in dfu..

yes i understand this.. this is normal for an ipod touch.. this happens when u first get the ipod touch. follow the instructions i said to get into DFU mode. you can get into DFU mode even from the "connect to iTunes" screen.

    1) Hold Power and Home buttons together for 10 seconds. count them out.
    2) release Power, but continue to hold home for about 20 more seconds.

your ipods screen should b black. the Shift + Restore to a 2.2.1 Firmware, and then rejailbreak. use redsn0w too.
