    I have an awesome idea...

When the newcomers first hit the "create new thread" button, it first takes them to a page that reads:

There is NO 2g iPod Touch Jailbreak.

There are FAKE videos on YouTube that say otherwise but IF those videos were true, the jailbreak would be all over this forum.

This message is here because of the new people that think there is a 2g jailbreak and keep posting new threads.

When there is a 2g jailbreak, IPTF would be some of the first to know.

If you proceed to post another fake jailbreak video, your account will be restricted for X days.

^^^ Or something like that in colored text... and it would only show up once for the newcomers.

I think it's needed how bout you?

Doing this throws all professionalism out the window. I hope the forum management doesn't decide to stoop down to the level of the ignorant kids/spammers and force every new member to go through this silly portal/notice.

Just let them keep posting and look like fools. If the moderators want it gone, they can get rid of it; that's what their job entails.

Maybe you could have a message just not make it so harsh explain that that question gets asked all the time and that this message helps them get their answer faster and that your not trying to call them stupid or anything

A different twist on this would be a probation period. So you sign-up and can't post for 50 hours (logged in), or two weeks from registration date, which ever comes first.

Gives time for new members to search. When they sing-up they should be encouraged to use search features, and this would be an approach to implement that.
