    Hi guys.

I am going to be receiving my iPod touch on Monday. My question is, before running windows.bat to jailbreak 1.1.2, do I end just the iTunes process? Or do I have to kill ituneshelper and applemobiledevice as well?

I HAVE done some research, but I have been getting some mixed information.

    Thanks.

You'd have to end all process related to iTunes and iPod...

Yes you do, otherwise iTunes will try and interrupt the process.

    Ah. ok. Thanks.
And also, when downgrading, do you HAVE to put your ipod into restore mode before SHIFT clicking restore? Or could you just SHIFT click "Check for update" button or the "Restore" button with a normal iPod connected?

Sorry to contradict, but i believe you need to keep applemobiledevice running, otherwise the jailbreak cant communicate with your ipod. Everything else should be closed though.

EDIT: Just read previous post. You don't HAVE to put into restore mode, but it IS a good idea.
