Have you tried using another pair of headphones to see if it's the headphone's problem?

How long have you add it?

If under 12 months, you can claim on your warranty from Apple, give them a call!

Mate, I assume your iPod touch was purchased in September when it was first launched ya... If so, your warranty is still valid and like what Matt-09 said, why not contact Apple and arrange for a warranty clain instead?

That's the next best option since Circuit City has already closed shop...

The only other solution i can think of is opening it up and soldering it 0-o
thats what i did with my old mp3 player

Which will void his warranty for sure....

If you have a warranty...why not actually use it when something goes wrong?
