well, i've noticed that a lot of PMP's and tv's and whatnot are switching over to OLED screens
i'm wondering if the new iPhone models might have OLED screens
    what do you guys think?
i mean, from what i've seen, OLED screens look a bit better than traditional LED screens and i'd love to see these incorporated into apple products

OLED's are way too expensive currently, it would not be feasible price wise. Those other PMP's are concepts and are not actually released, and if they are, check the price.

mmm, thank you for those points
i think i assumed that the products i saw, mainly tv's, were so expensive just because they were thin, energy efficient, and simply higher quality than a regular flat screen, not that it actually cost more to produce OLED screens

haha, well so much for that

the thing that really made me think about the possibility was the release of the sony OLED walkman i read about on engadget
    http://www.engadget.com/2009/05/04/sony-oled-walkman-nwz-x1050-hands-on/
i did a quick google search and it seems like it starts at around 400$ (though this is just an estimate since it hasn't been released in north america yet)

cowon did it for their S9 so apple should be able to if they wanted to.

OLED have many advantages over LCD.
Oled screens are much thinner than LCD, the contrast is also miled ahead of those on LCD(meaning black will be black and not grey), viewing angles are perfect(no dead angle).

1 thing bad about OLED though is for use in bright sunlight as the pixels are self lit.

for a comparison - check this clip

LCDs looks dull side to side to an OLED.

If Apple did, it would be a second, premium model, unless they could get the price down. I would pay a good $300 premium for that.

If Cowon can implement a OLED screen for 150$, then Apple must be able to do it for 400$
