This idea was originally stated by Chris Stroud, and it is to make any thread which has been completely inactive for 2 weeks-1 month auto lock itself, therefore stopping needless bumps and headaches for other users.

Please consider this, as it would be tremendously helpful in sections such as the 2g jailbreak section, which has 3-4 needless bumps a day.

Interesting idea... It may be difficult to iƟmplement as some very old and long standing threads that are ongoing and useful but are not stickied would not be accessible. I personally think we have to put up with the small amount of bumping that goes on and we as mods just have to police it with help from the members. If I can put up with them and the work involved I'm sure you can too.

We used to have a mod installed that required someone to check a box if they were bumping a thread where the old reply was older than 2 months or something. It stopped working after a vBulletin update but I can go back and look to fixing it in the next few weeks when I get more time.

I realised, but I couldn't think of a way to make it less obnoxious without straying from the general intended message of my post.

Well it really wasn't necessary to link to your old thread seeing as this one completely restated its message. When you posted the link, you're bringing up an old discussion that you are condemning to be locked. Are you starting to see the disadvantages of this?
