I have been lookin at the old macbook pro's with 2.2ghz processors and 4gb of ram and u can pick one up for under $1000 on ebay and such. My question is would I be screwing myself over to much for the future by trying to save some money? I mean the main differences are the design, graphics card(i dont do anything graphics intensive), and ddr3 ram. So the old macbook pro seem like a good option.

I say, go with the old MacBook Pro. Its not like you won't be able to switch when you need to. And Apple was way over what a computer needed to be back last generation's Macs too so you shouldn't have a problem at all. However, if you're looking for something newer, and a bit more portable, then go with the MacBook that's new however, its specs are about the same as the old Pro when you get the more expensive one but more expensive.
