Old ipod touch with spirti JB cydia not working

    A friend with an old style ipod touch jail broken with spirit, it worked fine for about a week but now cydia just comes up blank and even the apple app store wont work any idea what is wrong

    Dude go edit and delete most of what you said before a mod sees.

    That's better.
    I had a problem with the app store freezing when I was still on 3.1.3 when iOS 4 came out and I edited a file to make iTunes think I was on iOS 4. When I changed it back it started working again.

    So have you got something off cydia to change the firmware version or changed the version.plist file?

    it was a 1g ipod touch running 3.1.3 I hacked it with the spirit jb and that was it it ran fine until about a week later out of the blue cydia and the app store stopped working and it wasn't after a sync or update of any kind it was just normal use of the ipod

    Hm weird. You could always back it up and restore. If you use ssh you can also supliment the iTunes backup with a ssh backup.

    Have you tried anything to fix it?

    well the only thing i tried is rebooting it and that did nothing what makes this hard to do is the ipod is in a different state than me so I cant try alot of stuff just what i can explain for the person to do if i cant get a solution here i was planing on just telling them to restore and re jb

    Ha ha I tried a remote restore for a friend on facebook it's so hard when you don't have the device yourself.

    Yeah I suggest restore and then re-JB.
