My friend wants me to jailbreak his Ipod touch 2g MB running 4.1

what would be the best way to do it as i haven't done an old bootrom device before?

being an ipod it has no baseband systems

ok but doesn't redsn0w just jailbreaks it instead of making a custom IPSW,
