MC doesn't matter when it comes to 3GS, if you used ih8sn0ws program and it said old bootrom I suggest you listen and treat it as it is an old bootrom.

Yupp it will be untethered if it is the old bootrom. I am not 100% sure about this, I would look at guides in this forum. I just know that when it comes to iPhones MC doesn't matter.

Your serial says MC in it? That doesn't matter.

It's if the model is MC. To find the model go into settings>General>About>Model.

    MB is old bootrom.

They ran iDetector and it said it was old bootrom, so it doesn't matter.
iPhones don't use that to identify. Only iPod Touches work like that. It is the number next the the MC in the model number that says what the bootrom is, but now that he ran iDetector, it doesn't matter it is old bootrom.

Yea, Ih8sn0w said himself MC on iphones don't matter (I think PC doesn't matter either) If its old bootrom you can jailbreak. ( I'm not sure redsn0w is compatible, but I would trust that over sn0wbreeze. Ih8sn0w, the creator of sn0wbreeze just re-packages jailbreaks.) (Btw, you may think he released the first jailbreak (for some people using 3.1.2 shsh blobs) for 2g mc model, 3g ipod touch and iphone 3gs new bootrom, he just found a way to preserve an exploit from 3.1.2 while upgrading to 4.0. I'm not saying that he is bad, infact in my eyes that was very clever, but his creations are sometimes based on others.

Dont listen to ih8sn0w, he just steals dev-team code, all he does is put a .NET gui on top of it.
Don't use sn0wbreeze, its unstable. Instead use pwnagetool to make custom ipsw, and if u cant get your hands on a mac, download a custom ipsw that has been made by pwangetool, also, its quicker than sn0wbreeze

This is not the place to spill your hatred of ih8sn0w. Obviously he doesn't steal it, if they give it to him and get along.

Mc doesn't matter on iPhones, I have an mc 3GS and it's old bootrom.

Use pwnagetool 4.0.1, that's what I used to jailbreak 4.0.
