    Question 1:
is there anything I need to do to make sure that I can downgrade my older 2nd gen ipod touch 16gb from 4 to 3.1.2 (which I am currently running), before I make the update?

    Q2:
How can I change the jailbreak options with jailbreakme, like with redsn0w how you can select which ios 4 options to enable? or should I just use redsn0w. Are there any benefits of using jbme for my device, as both are untethered?

    1. The only way to downgrade is to use a CFW from PwnageTool(google iPod touch 2g 3.1.2 custom firmware)
    2. Jailbreakme just jailbreaks, no options available. If you want more advanced things, just use redsn0w. Both are untethered, jailbreakme is ridiculously easy to use.
