This code I'm assuming is the passcode lock you set on your iPod?

Try to use one click boot. No I will not give you a link. You might just be messing up on something.

    There is your problem.

While your ipod touch is connected to the pc.
    1. Hold power and home button for 10 seconds
    2. Let go of power and hold the home button for 30 seconds.
    3. Itunes should then pop up saying you need to restore.
    4. Now use a boot program.

Which is what you should do. It automatically enter the cmd code for you instead of having to type the commands.

You must be in DFU mode, and idk has already explained how to do it.
