Ok, i was going through the files and i found the applelogo.png, so i thought you could replace that with your logo and make a a .png and call it applelogo.png, maybe it would work? Ill show a pic of it, it in /System/Library/CoreServices/Springboard.app .

this was allready found months ago,
it only changes the logo that minimizes when springboard loads, not the actual startup logo,
but glad to see you're doing your best

So does anyone know how to change the boot logo without pwning? Odds are it's somewhere in some core file or in some artwork file...

already tried this but it doesn't work.
and if you want to change the boot logo without pwnage....well good luck. as mentionned in another thread, it is not just a png file. it is encrypted and signed by apple.

If you take the (File for restoring the iTouch).ipsw file and open it with winrar (don't extract it) than go to Firmware folder, all_flash, all_flash.n45ap.production, and drag and drop any other .img2 file (other than applelogo.img2) to the desktop (or any folder) and than rename that img2 file to applelogo.img2 than drag it back into winrar, it will overwrite the old applelogo.img2 file. Now put your touch into recovery mode, open it in itunes and restore it and as it's restoring the icon will switch from the applelogo to whatever you changed it to.
