Someone on the graphics calculator thread just linked to this which includes a bookmarklet button, which when you go to the bookmarklet page and bookmark it, instead of saving the webaddress in the bookmark, it saves the actual website in the bookmark so that it works without an internet connection!

I've looked into how this works (skipping the techno-babble so as not to confuse people), and think i can do it for other apps and was wondering if people had any suggestions of web-based apps that should be made into bookmarklets?

    Limitations:
can't need internet connection! - i.e. no games with upload to high-score table
    none or few graphics
small page size - i'm guessing having bookmarks that are more than a few kilobytes big is gonna give safari some problems.

If I write in a web-based text editor for example, could I save the text offline? Or if it's a game, could I save the progress? If that's possible it would be great.

I don't think you can use it to save information, but i'm thinking we could almost make our own offline notes application, where it gives you a page to bookmark that contains your note, only issue would be that it would probably make your note read only.

Also, I don't know if that website will do it, but you can store PDFs and other such things in bookmarks too.
