Yeah Someone made a desktop background using that apple image, and posted it in the MacRumor's forums. Can't remember where exactly I found it though... It was weeks ago :/
This Is unfortunately the best I could find out there: I know it's not the best (and obviously the wrong resolution for the retina display), but if you find a better one without Tim Cook, can you produce a version for the retina display?
Halo4 modded a4 by An Outright Nihilist, on Flickr DarthNihilusModded2 ipod by An Outright Nihilist, on Flickr Photoshop edited by me. Pictures are not mine though. Real nice, especially the Halo 4 one. My best created. Blends the light and the dark well. Looks great on Retina too. Darth Nihilus though, not made for Retina but is fits pretty well. Any icon on the second column, second row or third column, second row would block his eyes out though. It does kind of look funny/odd when that happens.
All of these work really well with 3 rows of undocked icons and the Glasklart theme. Made these all myself in photoshop Blink-182 Angels and Airwaves Hands Like Houses This last one looks kinda fuzzy cause it was really hard to photoshop but it is fine once the icons go on, here is a reference:
