Both of those are way out my price range, I'll ask a few other people so I can get more opinions and then I'll make a decision :) But thanks for your input

I actually like loud lenses. Plus, added on with my attached flash, it's awesome. You get the ringing and the loud click. Beastly.

Yeah I do like the the whizzing and clicking sound, onto somethung else. Why are flashguns so expensive? Basically all they are is a big and powerful bulb, is it really that expensive?

They generally have metering systems, power control, remote triggering etc. And more advanced ones have zoom lenses in front of the bulb. Take into account all the quick-charge components and settings and the price is somewhat justified.

A tip for flash: never use direct. Bounce or diffuse whenever possible.

The only real option is to build a mobile-friendly, non-flash version. You can't depend on, nor reccomend your mobile viewers' to run frash or similar if you want to get exposure.

Do you think its worth selling my used Canon EF-S 18-55mm kit lens? It's about £100 new, I'm going to upgrade to 18-135mm or 28-135mm soon so won't need the 18-55, should I sell it for next to nothing or just keep it in my bag just in case?

Keep it, both of the lenses you mentioned, beside focus length, is no better. Worthy upgrade would be the EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS, though for the price you could purchase a used "L".
