So I downloaded the official jailbreak and went through the process with my 2.1 1st gen IPod. All went good and it said the process was successful and it said to just wait until the IPod reboots.

I am still waiting. It was as if it kept turning on. It will get to the screen with the apple logo and just stall. Then it will flash and seem to turn off and do the same thing over and over. I tried turning it off and turning it back on but it still does the same thing.

So what do I need to do to fix this? It will not fully turn on now. I do not think I did anything wrong. I followed the directions as showed.

    Please help!

    ok I figures it out.

You just hold down the home and power button at the same time for 15 seconds. Then when it shuts off continue holding down home and plug it in to itunes. Cha-ching, restore and your done.

Repeat the jailbreak and it will work every time. Then just sync your stuff back to the IPod.
