Alright well, if you look on their site:
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MB128LL/A?fnode=MTY1NDA0OQ&mco=MTM1MTc
and you scroll down a bit, you'll see that the product is compatible with the classic, nano, touch, touch 2nd gen, iphone and the iphone 3G.

    Anyways, onto my problem:
I bought this cable today thinking it would work with the iPhone 3G, considering it says its "compatible" but whenever I plug it in to my phone, it says "This accessory was not made to work with iPhone. Would you like to turn on Airplane mode to reduce interference?"
I also tried it with my iPod Touch and it won't work with that either.
Well, it will work for about a minute, but then it will shut off and just play regularly using the touches screen.

    uh. wtf?
PLEASE don't tell me they are forcing us to buy yet another cable?
I've searched on google and saw that quite a few people have this problem.. and it all started with the 2.1 update...
Pleeease tell me they aren't phasing out this cable for a newer one.
You know how many frickin' iPod docks I have lying around because of how they phase things out? -_-

    Hmm..
Very strange but for some reason it's stopped saying it's not compatible. I used it last night with my iPhone 3G to watch an episode of a TV show and it was fine.
    Weirrrd.
