So basically this thread is for all the iPod Touch n00b hackers out there (like me), who don't know about this jailbreaking stuff.

    So my question:

I had 1.1.3 on my touch, then I found out that to get Installer, I need 1.1.1. So I watched a couple of Youtube videos and finally got it to 1.1.1 (losing all 1000 of my songs). But it was worth it. So I downloaded a bunch of sources, out TTR (GH3 Mod), other games and a bunch of cool stuff. And I have to say this is probably the most awesomest thing on the planet. But then I faced a problem...firmware upgrade?? Should I do it and how? Now iTunes have 1.1.4 which no one knows how to get into so I was thinking how do I upgrade to 1.1.2 or 1.1.3? Is there a way to do it without a PC or I need a PC to do it, and how do I do it. Will I lose any of my apps?

    Anything would be thankful.

you need to get to 1.1.2 using a computer then you can go to either 1.1.3 or 1.1.4 jailbroken without a computer

How do I get 1.1.2 on a computer? Do I have to find a link like I did for 1.1.1 and restore to 1.1.2 and all that? Cause when I go to iTunes it says 1.1.4, there is not option.

see the link in my signature go there and at the bottem of the thread there will be some stuff it's the link for any firmware go to that site and the second arrow not the first arrow the second click the arrow now all these choices will come up you want the 8th one from the top. click download now it's a big file so let it sit for a couple of minutes (about 165 megabytes to be exact). there you go now go back into my thread and read it will teach you how to downgrade from 1.1.4 or whatever.

ok when i run jailbreak.jar at the end it tells me my ipod will reboot a couple of times but all it does is open iTunes and say that it has detected an iPod in recovery mode. What do I do?

You were supposed to have iTunes and iTunesHelper closed/disabled.
