    Hey,
Since I read alot about people complaining about not-working hackintoshes or hackintoshes with reduced functionality I want to start a little help-thread about Hackintosh.

I'll try to help y'all out of your problems and I'll help you setting up MAC OS X on YOUR pc! Perhaps there are more ppl who have good knowledge about hackintosh? because I'm doing this due my winter-holidays...so just for fun

OK then. I guess I'll be the first to ask.

    Specs:

    CPU: Intel Pentium 4 651 3.4 GHz (yeah i know it's old)
    RAM: 2 GB DDR2
GPU: XFX nVidia Geforce 9600 GSO 768 MB
    PSU: Antec SmartPower 2.0 500 W
    Motherboard: Intel D945GTP
    HDD: 250 GB Western Digital
    Wireless adapter: Zyxel G-302 v3

I'm running only XP MCE, but I had XP x64 for a really long time :/
And I've never tried, because apparently my Wi-Fi wouldn't work and my motherboard was only partially compatible.

    okay...a small question:
SATA drive? if yes which controller?
and: which disc drive? SATA or IDE?

the CPU works, also the GFXcard does work - the board should also work (not fully yes but) with sound and LAN support and built-in graphics support

edit: your wifi card should work with the Tiger-kext from the realtek website (the chip is a RTL8185L)

    one last thing:
are you usign ps2? (keyboard/mouse) if yes you'll have to try if they work if you've got USB everything's fine

so...okay...you can give it a try with the "iDeneb 10.5.5" release

wifi card should work with the kext mentioned above...

10.5.5 is needed because of 9600 support (your gfx card)
the mobo works as well as its SATA controller.
perhaps (if you get a DVD boot error) you'll have to disconnect one fo your disc drives and install - after that you can reconnect it

but don't forget to backup important files before installing os x!
well you do not need to backup windows in fact that it's only an OS and if messed up you can set it up again^^ but your private files, music and documents/photos are important to backup!

Yeah I have USB, but they're wireless, would that be a problem?

And I think I'll just put my other drive back in for Leopard

hm..do the wireless devices need a special driver under windows? if not they're not a problem
    and to the drive thing:
no need try to boot from the leopard iDeneb release first..if everything works you don't need to do anything

otherwise you can still replace the drive^^ only try to boot wont harm your pc in any way

And I don't think I need special drivers... but I'm not sure
