I used Ziphone back when I was on 1.1.4 and of course got the bsd root error. I now have a 1.1.3 JB ipod and want to go to 1.1.4 and then JB. Do I still have the NVRAM problem after I've restored so many times. Isnt the NVRAM the flash drive in the iPod and therefore wouldn' after a restore NVRAM be clean of third party influence? If I still have the NVRAM problem is that anad thing? Im probably being paranoid but will that porblem affect my iPods performance or any other aspect of it?

When I updated from 1.1.3 to 1.1.4, I just put the iPod into DFU mode through ZiPhone, flashed the 1.1.4 image, rebooted then run ZiPhone again to jailbreak.
Really easy, no BSD Root error, everything working 100%.

Well heres a thing you could do.

Try without the NVRAM fix, then if you get a spamming at; either restore or kick back into normal mode.
Then do the NVRAM fix then re-jailbreak. Bound to work; regardless.
