Yes, it requires Microsoft Outlook 2003 or Microsoft Office Outlook 2007.

The whole way apple designed this is asinine. It would actually make sense if the notes syncing was just txt files and not integrated into the mail app. Each note should automatically be saved as a text file in your itunes folder which you could then open in any text reader. Then any notes saved in that folder would be added to the ipod on the next sync. Of course that would make sense but with this being apple we get some ridiculous way of syncing notes where we have to tie it with a mail application on our computer. So much for 3.0 having notes syncing.

Their stupidity never ceases to amaze me.

When you're in the Info tab in iTunes looking at the sync settings, the dropdown box for synching notes will list all of the compatible programs installed on your computer. If T-Bird isn't in there, it won't be seamless.

I actually tried SSHing into my phone and copying the Notes file before I went to 3.0, but I couldn't get it to work.
