When the first 3.0 beta came out I tried it... And it had internet tethering as an option on my iPod Touch 2G... Now the public 3.0 release doesn't? What gives? I could totally use my Touch as a WiFi adapter for my old Win*cough*dows PC. Now I can't...

Have you ever heard of this company called "AT&T"?

What does AT&T have to do with the iPod touch line of things? Its not a phone.

Its most likely been disabled by apple for like... iono... redundancy due to the fact most pcs have wifi these days.

I guess so? But still, there are those few PC's without WiFi...

My guess is its one of those things where you can change a random piece of code somewhere in itunes or wherever itunes saved local iphone/ipod touch settings, and it'll be re-enabled. I'm sure tethering is still IN the firmware, just locked out (like... Street view was for iPod Touch 2G in 2.0.)
