Ugh. I'm always "running out of space" on my iPod touch. Now, every time I try to add something to my iPod touch using my FTP server or try to download something with the installer (including the 3.1 update), I can't! But...I still have space on my iPod!! Right now I have 2.02 GB of free space. So why can't I add anything else to my iPod? (Yes, I can add anything I want using iTunes)

Download Bosstool from installer, then choose Free Disk Space, then move everything to the other partion.

Hmm... I just tried that, but when I tap on Do It! after tapping on Relocate Applications, it just does something for like a fourth of a second, then still says "0 MB free out of 300 MB on /" =(.

    do the symlink manually
    ssh and then do this:

    cd /
    cp -r Applications /var/Applications
    rm -r Applications
    ln -s /var/Applications Applications

you make an alias of the folder with the apps so it moves it onto the hd space and not the root folder.
ssh depending on what OS you're on, i have mac so i use cyberduck, then you connect to your ipod/fone and move the folder.

see the guide on my youtube page (in sig) to learn how to ssh. If you are on a mac run the commands through terminal.
