I just Re-jailbroke my iPod touch 16gb 1.1.1. but for some reason the screen now auto dims. its not the auto brightness it just dims after like 10 sec of not using. i didn't think it used to be like this and i never installed a setings app to change this. any ideas?

could be one of two things

    1) go to settings/general/autolock and set it for more than 1 minute

    2) go to summerboard and turn off the dim wallpaper function

The only thing I could think of, is if you had a custom settings installed before re-jailbreaking, It may have saved that information and misinterpreted it. I restored my iPod awhile ago and when I started it up to look at my boring blank springboard, I still had the dock I was using before the restore, and I had the fake time turned on (I jacked it up while making screenshots and had to restore). That's all I've got.

Are you sure that this is new? I've been on 1.1.2 since november, and it has always auto dimmed. I can't say that I remember how it acted in 1.1.1 though. Can anyone confirm that this isn't happening to them as well? Maybe you just never noticed before, like a mid-firmware feature update (unless, of course, you don't like it). I know that it was almost three months before I noticed that my mac auto dimmed, but I can't say that I was watching for it

Nope, no custom settings. I'm pretty sure this hasn't always happend though because I always use my ipod in my car and i can't see the screen when it auto dims. I think i would have noticed. I don't know maybe it has..haha. I'm almost positive it hasn't though.
