I've seen this question asked way to many times and figured it was about time for a guide.

I spent 2 hours on this guide so don't flame me but I wouldn't mind constructive critisism

    The Problem

my wallpaper is frozen and won't change no matter what I try.

    The Fix

if your iPod touch or iPhone is not yet jailbroken look here

install openSSH on you iPod touch or iPhone and also install services(both in community sources). now go home respring, and enter sevices and make sure SSH is turned on.

install an SSH client such as winSCP here(to find out how to set up watch this)

now that you have SSH set up click the up arrow 3 times.

now go into a foder called "private" then a folder called "var" then a folder called "mobile" then a folder called "library".

in the "library" folder you will see a file called LockBackgound.jpg
delete this file and restart your iPod.

now your wallpaper should be default (the earth) and you can change it as you please.

    The 2nd Question

now that I have a working wallpaper can I have a differant picture for my summerboard and lockscreen.

    The 2nd Question Answear
    Yes,

    requirements

    • iPod touch or iPhone (obviously)
    • summerboard
    • winSCP
    • diesired pictures
    • cool summerboard theme

click the up arrow 3 times.

Please Register or Log in to view images

now go into a foder called "private" then a folder called "var" then a folder called "mobile" then a folder called "library" then a folder called "summerboard" then there will be a list of folders and each one will have the name of one of your summerboard themes go into the summerboard theme you are currenty useing.

you will notice a file called wallpaper.png, delete it.

now set the wallpaper that you want to be your springboard background as your lockscreen backgraound on your iPod or iPhone.

now repeate these steps click the up arrow 5 times.

Please Register or Log in to view images

now go into a foder called "private" then a folder called "var" then a folder called "mobile" then a folder called "library" and copy the file to private/var/mobile/library/summerboard/(current theme).

now rename LockBackground.jpg to Wallpaper.jpg (or .png if .jpg doesn't work)

now selct ypur lockscreen wallpaper as you normaly would.

disconnect from winSCP and restart your iPod or iPhone.

    Have Fun

Why does this happen/How do I prevent it from happening to me

It is a result of customize 2.0, if the theme you are useing in customize includes a wallpaper there is a chance it could get frozen like that. The more popular this app gets the more popular this problem gets so that's why we have been seeing this question so frequently here. to prevent this problem uninstall customize 2.0 or downgrade your customize to one of the earlier versions and use summerboard to set your themes.

this is my first guide so please don't flame me.

    Thanks man.

that's because it is caused by customize 2.0 and the more popular this app gets the more popular this problem gets. Idk what it is in coustomize 2.0 that makes it do this but it is that application. I personally have the modded old customize and have never had this problem.

BTW I really wish this thread would get more veiws so the noobs c it.
