Not sure what happened, but none of my apps will start now. Original apps like Safari and mail are fine, but all my purchased apps start to launch and then go back to the icons screen. I've tried rebooting my touch several times and that does not work.

Any ideas? I'm trying to avoid a full restore.

Valid question, but no, I'm "legit" I hate to say this, but the only thing I've done tonight is installed a few new apps, rearranged some of my screens and deleted one. I tried reinstalling the deleted app but that did not help.

I've also tried resetting my touch several times and that has not worked.

I've deleted a few apps that will not start and tried to re-install, that did not work...

Grrrr, I hate this thing sometimes...

Just go into the appstore on your ipod touch and buy a free app
    then reboot your ipod
    and then they should work

Hell, I'll try anything at this point, I'll let you know what happens in a bit...

Free app did not fix it, moving onto next suggestion to reset all settings...

This is a really common problem and I'm pretty sure one or both of these work:

    1. Locking your iPod, turning it on to the lock screen and letting it go black, and then going back in and trying to start apps. I hear this works...

    2. Resetting All Settings. I'm pretty darn sure this works.

You could also try deleting all of the apps from your iPod, and then resyncing them with your computer.

I'll give them a shot, thanks for the advice, let's see what happens...

Hate to say this, but that didn't work either. It seems like it's hosed... I'm taking a backup (which will probably take all friggin night!) and then try removing all of my apps and then installing them back on. If that fails, I'll have to restore...

This will be restore #4 for within the last month...
  8. Are you at 2.0.1?

Try and see if updating or jailbreaking it and updating will help.

I was on 2.0. I was waiting on 2.0.1 o see if anyone had any major bugs before upgrading. I went ahead and installed the update since I had nothing to lose but still nothing!

I give up, I'm going to go ahead and restore. This sucks.

    You're not alone

I have the same problem with my touch. Just as you report, all the native apps work fine, but neither of the two apps I've bought through the apps store work, they just open for a second or so, then close back to the main screen. My touch is running 2.0 and has no unsupported mods. One of the apps is Top 3 Solitaire--hard to believe that then problem is with the app.

I may stop by the Apple Store and ask them. I really don't want to reset everything. Like you say it will take all *&^% night to reload.
