This is a discussion thread for the "Nobody Wants a Kindle Fire Anymore" story posted on the front page.
I associate the Kindle brand in general with books, not gaming, possibly a flaw by design in the fire. Plus, why get a fire when there's the iPad? For reading, the normal Kindle does justice.
Well, the older iPad did get cheaper after the new one released and the refurbished 1st generation models are only a little more than a Fire. It's understandable that people want a real ecosystem.
Perhaps because everyone who wanted one bought one already? I would say they've saturated their market. Also, the last quarter of 2011 includes Christmas, correct? There's no doubt that they would sell more $200 gadgets at Christmas than they would the beginning of the following year.
No, it's not. For what it does and what's in it, it's worth every penny. You can get refurbs (which are just about brand new...you couldn't tell the difference), starting at $350. Tell me the iPad is expensive when the transformer Prime Infinity costs more?
Not terribly surprising. A crippled variation of an outdated version of Android does not bode well for tablets. This thing should have had a skinned 4.x so that it could run tablet apps instead of blown up phone apps.
