Well this issue happened a while ago and I've been busy with work to really bother about it.

Basically it can't find any Wifi networks, the only one it's found so far is the home one and has no reception (but still finds it), when I try to connect it, it asks for the Wifi key. I turn the security off and get "Unable to join the network "<network name">.

The home button is stuffed too, does this mean there is no way to jailbreak anymore?

My main question is, can you jailbreak without entering in DFU mode manually?

you could upgrade to 3.1.2 and use blackra1n. Not sure if it works on 3.0.

You could try RedSn0w, and that directly installs Cydia without a "middleman." But then again, you need something that doesn't require DFU so blackra1n is your only option. If you don't have Wifi, you really couldn't use Cydia though.
